I started making teddy bears in 200.  At first I was making them for special events like weddings and birthdays.  Since 2010 I started to make them as a way to relieve stress.  That left me with a lot of bears in storage.  In 2011 a friend of mine suggested that I try to sell them.  I loved the idea.  I started in Kingston, Ontario selling at a consignment shop.  Then when the shop wasn't doing well and closed I tried on my own.   In the mean time my family moved to Meaford, Ontario and so I enrolled in a couple of artisan shows and the Meaford Farmers Market.   I love making the bears as I never know the personality of the bear until it is done.  Each one is unique even if the same fabric and pattern is used.  I can even take the old fur coat in the closet that was an Aunts or Grandmothers and make it into a beautiful keepsake!
